3.5 mm crochet hook
8 ply/dk or 10 ply/light ww yarn in a Christmas colour. I used yellow but any colour would work.
Optional: Ribbon and glue.
Popcorn Stitch (pc) – Work 5 dc into the same stitch and pull up a loop. Remove hook from loop and insert into the top of the first dc from front to back. Grab the dropped loop and pull through the stitch.
Ch 2 does not count as a dc throughout pattern.
Starting with a magic circle or ch 3 and join with a sl st to make a loop,
Round 1: Ch 2, *pc, ch 2* x 5. Join to the top of the first pc with a sl st. (5 pc)
Round 2: Sl st into ch 2 space, *pc, ch 2, pc, ch 2* into each ch 2 space around. Join to the top of the first pc with a sl st(10 pc)
Round 3: Sl st into ch 2 space, *pc, ch 5, sl st into the 3rd ch from the hook, ch 2, pc into ch 2 space, ch 1, sc into the next ch 2 space, ch 1* x 5. Join to beginning of round with a sl st.(10 pc, 5 sc)
Finish off and weave in ends. Block/stiffen into shape. You can attach a ribbon or ch loop for hanging.
